Understanding Your Plan and Usage Limits
What each hosting plan includes, how websites, storage and visits are measured, and exactly what happens and what it costs if you go over.
What's Included in Your Plan
Every Reggio Digital hosting plan includes a set number of websites, an amount of storage, and a monthly visit allowance. Knowing how each one is measured helps you pick the right plan and avoid surprise charges.
The Plans
| Plan | Websites | Storage | Monthly visits | Monthly price | Yearly price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 1 | 10 GB | 25,000 | $25 | $250 |
| Tier 2 | 3 | 15 GB | 75,000 | $50 | $500 |
| Tier 3 | 8 | 20 GB | 200,000 | $100 | $1,000 |
| Tier 4 | 20 | 30 GB | 500,000 | $200 | $2,000 |
Yearly billing costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free.
How Each Limit Is Measured
- Websites: the live sites on the plan. Staging copies don't count.
- Storage: each site's wp-content folder (your uploads, themes and plugins) plus its database, as they sit on disk, added together across the sites on the plan. WordPress's own files don't count, and neither do the WebP copies of your images our optimizer creates. Storage is measured every night.
- Monthly visits: one internet address on one day, however many pages it opens, added up over the month. Search engines and bots that identify themselves don't count. See How We Count Visits for exactly what counts and what doesn't.
If you hold more than one plan, each plan has its own limits. Storage and visits don't pool between plans: two plans that each include 10 GB give you two separate 10 GB allowances, not one 20 GB allowance. A site's usage always counts against the plan it's on.
Checking Your Usage
Go to your Websites page to see where you stand. Your sites are grouped by plan, with each site's visits so far this month and its storage, and each plan's totals against its limits.
What Happens If You Go Over
Websites are a hard limit. Another site can't be added to that plan until it's upgraded or a site is removed.
Storage and visits are never shut off or slowed down. Anything over your plan is billed as overage once the month ends, on its own invoice, charged to the card on file. We email you that invoice when it's created.
| Over on | Overage price | How it's worked out |
|---|---|---|
| Visits | $10 per 25,000 visits, or part of it | Your plan's total visits for the month, against its allowance |
| Storage | $10 per 10 GB, or part of it | Storage is checked every day. If the plan is over at any check during the month, that month is billed for how far over it was the last time it was over |
Overage is charged in whole blocks, so going 2,000 visits over costs the same $10 as going 20,000 over.
If you're over most months, add-on blocks raise your limits for $9 a block per month instead, and a bigger plan may cost less again. See Add-On Blocks: Expand Your Plan Limits and Save.
