Are there any setup fees or hidden costs?
No setup fees, no hidden costs. Our pricing is transparent and includes everything you need to run your WordPress website successfully. The only additional costs might be premium plugins or themes you choose to purchase separately.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Absolutely! You can upgrade your plan at any time, and we'll prorate the difference. Downgrades are processed at your next billing cycle to ensure you receive the full value of your current plan.
Do you offer annual billing discounts?
Yes, we offer significant savings when you pay annually. You can save up to 2 months' worth of hosting fees by choosing annual billing over monthly payments.
Do you charge overages?
Whether you get an unexpected influx in traffic or you need more storage as you're adding more content, we want to support the growth of your site. When your number of visits exceeds your plan limit, we charge a small overage for every 1,000 visitors over your limit. The overage cost is $1 per 1,000 extra monthly visitors. When your storage exceeds your limit, we charge an additional $1 for every GB you are over your limit.
What counts as a visit?
Reggio Digital determines which plan you require based on the amount of traffic to your site in a given month. We define a visit as: A unique IP address in the 24-hour period. We count the number of unique IP addresses that visit a site on a given day. This is the number of visits for that day. We then add up all the daily values for the entire month.
Migration & Setup
Is website migration really free?
Yes, absolutely! We provide free website migration for all new customers. Our expert team handles the entire process, including transferring files, databases, and configuring your site on our servers. This service typically saves you $200-$500 in migration costs.
How long does the migration process take?
We handle the entire migration process for you. Complex sites with custom configurations may take longer than simple sites. We'll keep you updated throughout the process and ensure your site is thoroughly tested before going live.
Will my website experience downtime during migration?
We minimize downtime by performing migrations in the background. Your current site stays live until we've fully set up and tested your site on our servers. The actual DNS switch typically takes only a few minutes.
What if something goes wrong during migration?
Our migration process includes multiple safety checks and backups. In the rare event of an issue, we can quickly restore your site to its original state. We also provide post-migration support to address any concerns.
How easy is it to set up WordPress?
Setting up WordPress is incredibly easy with our WordPress Hosting. Our streamlined process and user-friendly interface guide you through installation in just a few clicks. How does email sending work with Reggio Digital?
At Reggio Digital, we use a SMTP relay service for all email sending across your WordPress sites. This means that any emails sent from your website, such as notifications, contact form submissions, or order confirmations, are routed through the relay service for reliable delivery.
Do I need to configure anything on my WordPress site?
No additional configuration is needed on your end. All WordPress sites hosted on Reggio Digital are automatically set up for outgoing emails. This means you don't need to install any plugins or make any changes to your WordPress settings.
What types of emails will be sent using this service?
All types of emails generated by your WordPress site will be sent through the relay service. This includes contact form submissions, password reset emails, order confirmations, newsletter emails (if managed through WordPress), and any other transactional emails generated by your site.
Can I use a different SMTP service instead?
By default, all emails are routed through the relay service to ensure consistent deliverability and performance. If you prefer to use a different SMTP service, you would need to override the default settings, which might involve configuring a plugin or custom settings on your WordPress site. We recommend WP Mail SMTP. Please contact our support team if you need assistance with this.
What happens if there's an issue with email delivery?
If there's an issue with email delivery, it's likely related to your domain's DNS settings (ensure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are properly configured), a temporary issue with the relay service (which is rare), or your email content triggering spam filters. Our support team is available to assist if you encounter any issues with email delivery.
Are there any limitations on the number of emails I can send?
Our relay service is highly scalable, and while there are no hard limits on the number of emails you can send, your usage should comply with our acceptable use policy. If you plan to send a high volume of emails, please reach out to our support team to ensure your plan covers your needs.
What if I need to send marketing emails?
Our relay service is optimized for transactional emails, but it can also be used for marketing emails. If you are sending large volumes of marketing emails, we recommend using a dedicated email marketing platform. This ensures compliance with anti-spam laws and provides additional features like list management and segmentation.
What DNS records do I need for email authentication and deliverability?
At Reggio Digital, we provide built-in email authentication for all hosted sites using our transactional email service. If your domain uses our name servers, all necessary DNS records are already in place. However, if your DNS is managed elsewhere, you may need to manually add DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records. For DKIM, add CNAME records for "openhosting1._domainkey" and "openhosting2._domainkey" pointing to "openhosting1._domainkey.wpcloud.com" and "openhosting2._domainkey.wpcloud.com" respectively. For SPF, you may need to include "wpdatacenter.com" in your SPF record. For basic DMARC protection, add a TXT record for "_dmarc" with value "v=DMARC1; p=none;". Our support team can help you configure these records properly.
Do you offer email accounts?
While we don't host the email accounts themselves, we do have an offering for Google Workspace. We're experts at making WordPress sites super fast and secure, and we recommend you host email with a company that does the same for email.

Do you provide staging environments?
Yes, staging environments are included with our Business and Enterprise plans. You can test changes, updates, and new features in a safe environment before pushing them to your live site.
How do you handle backups?
We perform daily automated backups of your entire website, including files and databases. Backups are stored securely off-site and retained for 30 days. You can also create manual backups anytime through your dashboard.
What security measures do you have in place?
We implement multiple layers of security including firewall protection, malware scanning, brute force protection, SSL certificates, regular security updates, and proactive monitoring. Our team responds immediately to any security threats.
What PHP versions do you support?
We support PHP versions 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4 for all new sites. We can easily switch between these versions based on your needs. If you need a different PHP version for your site, please reach out to us at support@reggiodigital.com and we'll make the change for you.
Are there any platform limitations I should know about?
Yes, there are some platform considerations: We don't support ionCube, ZendGuard Loader, or Imagick extensions. Our sites use NGINX (not Apache), so .htaccess files don't apply. We don't support additional databases, external database connections, or video transcoding/streaming. Each site is limited to 200 transactional emails per hour. We recommend using YouTube or Vimeo for video hosting and the Safe Redirect Manager plugin for redirects.
What ports and protocols do you support for traffic?
For inbound traffic, we accept connections on TCP ports 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS), and 22 (SFTP for file uploads). For outbound traffic, we allow SMTP (ports 465, 587), POP3 (ports 110, 995), IMAP (ports 143, 993), and HTTP/HTTPS (ports 80, 443). All other outbound traffic is blocked and logged for security purposes.
How do you handle WordPress core updates and plugin management?
We handle all WordPress core updates automatically, ensuring your site runs the latest stable release. We also pre-install and manage essential plugins like Akismet, Jetpack, and Jetpack Protect. For some sites, we manage WooCommerce as well. The Twenty Twenty-Four theme comes pre-installed, and Storefront may be included for WooCommerce sites. You cannot modify core WordPress files, but we maintain a secure environment with dedicated support access.
Do you support WordPress Multisite?
Yes, we support WordPress multisite with path-based networks (like example.com/site1, example.com/site2). However, domain-based multisite networks (like site1.example.com, site2.example.com) are not supported due to our platform architecture.
Does this include Managed WordPress?
Yes! We offer unlimited support for tasks that can be completed within 30 minutes, regular updates, security patches, and performance optimizations to ensure your website runs smoothly.
