How your site's nightly backups work, and how to get back to an earlier version if you need to.
Backups Made Simple
Backups aren't the most exciting topic, but they matter. We back up your whole site, files and database together, automatically every night, so you don't have to think about it.
How It Works
Every night, we take a full snapshot of your site and store it off-site. We keep the last 30 nightly backups, plus a weekly copy going back 8 weeks. There's nothing to configure: no schedule to set, no retention to manage.
You'll find your backup history under Websites → [Your Site] → Backups.
Restoring From a Backup
If you ever need to roll back, we handle it for you rather than leaving it to a button. Restoring puts your files and database back together as they were, and that takes care, so it's not something we hand off to a one-click control.
Reach out through Support and tell us which date you want to restore to. We'll take it from there.
A Word of Caution
Restoring replaces your current site with the version from that backup. Anything changed since then will be lost, so let us know if you want us to save a copy of your current state first.
