Signup Forms for Your Website
Build a signup form, then put it on your website, share it as a link, or print it as a QR code.
A signup form is the best way to grow your list: people type in their own address, and they have clearly asked to hear from you. We host the form, block spam signups and send the confirmation emails, so there is nothing for you to run.
You can put the same form on your website, behind a QR code on the counter, or in the link in your Instagram bio.
Making a form
- Go to Newsletter → Forms and press New form.
- Under Name it, give it a name only you will see, such as "Footer form" or "Table QR code". Press Start building.
- Pick a Form layout on the left:
- Inline: a compact signup below a post or in your footer.
- Card: a bordered form for a sidebar or a page section.
- Banner: a centered signup with room for a short invitation.
- Split: your introduction beside the signup fields.
- On the Content tab, write the Heading and the Text under the heading. Email address is always asked for. Tick Ask for a first name if you want one, so your emails can greet people by name. Change the Button label if "Subscribe" does not suit you.
- On the Settings tab you can choose what happens after someone signs up:
- Success message is what they see on the form. Leave it empty and we show a sensible one for you.
- Redirect URL sends them to a page of your choosing instead, such as a thank-you page on your site.
- Subscriber tags tags everyone who signs up through this form, so you know where they came from.
- Press Save changes. The preview updates as you type, and you can switch it between desktop and phone.
The left side of the builder shows which list the form feeds, under Signups go to.
Putting it on your site
Press Publish form. Save your changes first, because what you publish is the saved version.
On any website. Press Copy embed code and paste it into a custom HTML block on your site. In WordPress that is the Custom HTML block, and most other site builders have a similar embed or code block. The form fits the width it is given and adjusts its own height.
As a link. Copy the Signup page link. It opens the form on its own page, which is ideal for a link in your bio, a QR code on the table or a printed card.
On a WordPress site we host for you. Under On your websites, choose the site and press Install saved form. The form then appears below every blog post on that site, with no code to paste. Cached pages can take a little while to show it. Press Remove to take it off again. Installing needs someone on your team who is allowed to manage websites; if that is not you, the page says so.
Whenever you change the form later and save, the live form updates everywhere it is shown.
What your visitors see
When someone signs up, the form tells them what happens next. If you ask people to confirm by email (we recommend it, and it is on unless you turn it off), they are told to check their inbox for a confirmation link, and they join your list once they click it. Spam signups are blocked for you, with nothing to set up.
Seeing how a form is doing
Each form on the Forms page shows how many times it has been viewed, how many people signed up, and the percentage who signed up. View live opens the form as your visitors see it, and Open builder takes you back to edit it.
Delete removes a form. The people who already signed up through it stay on your list. If you installed the form on one of your websites through us, remove it from the site first.
