Reading Your Email Delivery Log
Find a message, understand its delivery status, and download a record of recent sends.
Open Sent email, or click View sent email on the overview.
Search by recipient or subject, then narrow the results by delivery status or sending domain. Open a message to see its From and To addresses, status explanation, delivery timeline and any bounce advice.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | The email is waiting for its requested send time. |
| Waiting to go | A batch email has been accepted and is waiting to send. |
| On its way | Sending has started; the final delivery result is not yet available. |
| Arrived | The recipient's mail server accepted it. This does not prove it reached the inbox or was read. |
| Running late | The receiving server is temporarily refusing mail; delivery is being retried. |
| Came back | The receiving server refused the message. Open it for the reason and suggested action. |
| Marked as spam | The recipient reported the message as spam. |
| Not sent | The message was stopped before sending. Read its explanation. |
| Failed | The message could not be built or sent successfully. |
| Cancelled | The pending send was cancelled. |
The delivery log keeps 30 days of sends. Use Download to save a CSV if you need a longer record. Earlier monthly totals remain on the Transactional email overview. The sent log records delivery information; it does not retain the delivered message body for you to reopen.
Open the message details
The detail panel shows What happened, step by step, plus bounce advice when a message comes back. It also shows the sender, recipient and any labels your application added.
An open or click can sometimes be an automatic security scan. If the timeline identifies an automatic scanner, do not treat that as proof a person read the message.
When to contact support
If the status or bounce advice does not explain what to do next, open a ticket with the recipient, subject and approximate time. For an API send, include its message or request reference if available.
