Changing or Cancelling a Scheduled Email
Move a pending message to a new time or cancel it before sending starts.
Your application can schedule email through the API. To manage a pending message in the dashboard:
- Find it in Sent email, using the Scheduled filter if helpful.
- Open the message.
- Under Change when this goes out, enter a future New send time up to 30 days ahead.
- Check the timezone printed in the dialog and click Save new time.
To stop it instead, click Cancel email and confirm. Once sending has started, the message cannot be moved or cancelled. Cancellation does not recall an email that has already gone out.
How an email gets scheduled
Your developer requests a future send through the API. The dashboard lets you manage that pending message; it is not a compose-and-schedule screen. Share the send API documentation with your developer for the request format.
Check the time
Use the timezone printed beside the scheduling controls. The new time must be in the future and within 30 days. If the form rejects a time, read its message and choose a valid time rather than assuming the change was saved.
If the controls are unavailable
The message may already be sending or sent, or your company permissions may not allow you to change it. Ask a member with permission to manage email if needed. Once sending has started, cancellation cannot stop or recall it.
After a change, reopen the message and check its scheduled time or cancelled status.
